2012 People’s Choice Awards Nominees Announced

2011 is starting to wind down, which means it’s time for all the various awards shows to begin rearing their heads. First up are the People’s Choice Awards, which for some reason ditched the Favorite Horror Movie category they instituted last year, but we won’t hold that against them too much since “The Walking Dead” made the cut for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show.

Here are the genre nominee highlights:

There’s not much for horror fans in the movie categories except for Chloe Moretz, Daniel Radcliffe, and Tom Felton in the FAVORITE MOVIE STAR UNDER 25 category so returning to TV, you’ll find Ian Somerhalder from “The Vampire Diaries” nominated for Favorite TV Drama Actor and (finally!!!) Nina Dobrev from “TVD” nominated for Favorite TV Drama Actress.

Voting begins today for all 43 categories and will end on December 6, 2011, except for “Favorite New TV Drama” and “Favorite New TV Comedy” which will remain open for voting until the night of show. Winners will be revealed during the live broadcast of PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 from the Nokia Theater, L.A. Live on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

How to Vote for PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012:

· Website – PeoplesChoice.com houses the main voting platform for PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012. Registered fans are automatically entered to win tickets every time they cast a vote.

· Facebook – Facebook.com/PeoplesChoice features a custom application where fans can personalize their voting experience, share their votes, enter to win tickets, and submit their Facebook profile picture for a chance to be featured in the PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 live telecast on January 11.

· Twitter – Fans can cast official votes for PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2012 by tweeting a specific series of hashtags based on the nominee’s name and category. To see a complete list of hashtags created for each nominee, please visit PeoplesChoice.com/pca/vote.

· Mobile – Fans can vote in all categories on the People’s Choice Awards mobile site and via the official voting application for Android devices. The free app is available for download from the Android Market.
