All TRICK No Treat in Patrick Lussier’s Next Genre Flick Starring Dermot Mulroney

Director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer are the creative duo behind recent genre hits My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry. Their next joint endeavor is a psychological slasher/detective saga called Trick; the film will star veteran actor Dermot Mulroney as Detective Mike Denver, a lawman who puts his work first and foremost. Here’s the synopsis for yesterday’s press release:

“The story centers on an elusive serial killer, who descends upon a small town annually, bringing terror and death.  He is responsible for gruesome murders year after year, each in different jurisdictions and seemingly unrelated.  No one believes this could be the same killer.  Detective Denver has faced Trick once before – he shot and killed him.  Or so everyone keeps telling him.  However, Denver knows Trick is out there and he’s coming back for revenge.”

Though it’s not being stated outright, the fact that the killer strikes annually and goes by the moniker “Trick” suggests it’s a Halloween-themed affair. We’ll know for certain when Trick arrives in theaters at a TBD date in 2019; stay tuned for additional details!
