Trailer for THE QUAKE Will Rock You!
One of my favorite horror movies out of Fantastic Fest 2018 was The Quake. It’s a sequel to the 2015 disaster saga The Wave and features the same family who survived a tsunami in rural Norway; this time, they find themselves in Oslo during the most powerful earthquake the country has experienced in over a century. In some ways, it’s like, “Damn, how much can one family take?”

Today, we’re getting our first look at the new trailer for The Quake, and it’ll have you holding your breath for about two and a half minutes. You may think you’ve seen it all when it comes to buildings falling down, but believe me—you haven’t. The film relies heavily on CGI (obviously) but the effects are both believable and effective.
Give the synopsis and trailer a look-see below; look for The Quake in select US theaters and VOD platforms beginning December 14th.
Synopsis:
In 1904 an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale shook Oslo, with an epicenter in the “Oslo Graben” which runs under the Norwegian capital. There are now signs that indicate that we can expect a major future earthquake in Oslo.
The Quake is directed by John Kåre Raake who co-wrote the screenplay with Harald Rosenløw-Eeg; the film stars Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, and Hang Tran.
