Saban Acquires THE HAUNTING OF SHARON TATE Starring Hillary Duff

August 8th, 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the infamous murder of actress Sharon Tate, her unborn child, and several of her socialite houseguests. The atrocities were carried out at the behest of cult leader Charles Manson and his twisted “Family”, effectively destroying the peace-and-love-vibes of the 1960s.

To commemorate the infamous true crime, Quentin Tarantino is currently filming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a movie that takes place in the days leading up to Tate’s murder; look or it in theaters beginning July 26th. Of course, Tarantino’s flick isn’t the only Tate-themed horror movie coming down the pike.

Today brings word that Saban Films has acquired The Haunting of Sharon Tate. The film is written and directed by Daniel Farrands and stars Hilary Duff, Jonathan Bennett, and Lydia Hearst.

“The Tate Murders remain a horrifying cultural fascination, even nearly 50 years after they occurred,” said Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley. “Hilary is mesmerizing as Sharon Tate; this is a brutal and unsettling story.”

We don’t have a trailer or a target release date yet, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground in order to bring you additional news as details emerge. Stay tuned!
