More Casting News for THE BOY 2 Starring Katie Holmes
We’ve been following news of the sequel to 2016’s The Boy, The Boy 2, since the project was first announced on October 23rd. The film will star Katie Holmes, who may seem like a strange choice for a genre flick, until you realize she’s got experience; though best-known as the actress who played adolescent Joey on Dawson’s Creek in the 1990s, she since appeared in Disturbing Behavior, Abandon, and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.
Since the project’s initial announcement, we reported that Christopher Convery (Gotham, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) will play Holmes’ onscreen son. Today brings news that the cast has expanded further with Ralph Ineson (The Witch) and Owain Yeoman (The Belko Experiment) both been retained for The Boy 2.

The Boy 2 is reuniting original director and scribe William Brent Bell and Stacey Menear respectively. The production is slated to begin principal photography on January 14th in Canada. We’ll keep you apprised of all future developments, so stay tuned!
