Casting News for ZOMBIELAND 2 Reveals Things Went Bad for “Columbus” & “Wichita”
At the feel-good conclusion to 2009’s Zombieland, Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) had found his Twinkies and Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) found the girl of his dreams in Wichita (Emma Stone)—or so it seemed. A bit of casting news announced that Vampire Academy‘s Zoey Deutch will be joining the original cast when Zombieland 2 arrives in theaters in on October 11th, 2019. Her character description, however, reveals that things didn’t work out between Columbus and Wichita.
According to Bloody Disgusting, “Deutch will portray a love interest to Eisenberg’s Columbus.”
Who wants to bet it was Wichita did the dumping?
Zombieland 2 will also reunite original Zombieland director and scribe Ruben Fleischer and Rhett Reese respectively. It’ll be ages until we get a trailer, but you can stroll down Memory Lane by giving the original Zombieland synopsis and trailer a whirl below.
Synopsis:
After a virus turns most people into zombies, the world’s surviving humans remain locked in an ongoing battle against the hungry undead. Four survivors — Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and his cohorts Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) — abide by a list of survival rules and zombie-killing strategies as they make their way toward a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles.
