More ZOMBIELAND 2 Casting News: Meet “Berkeley”
In addition to reuniting original director and writer Ruben Fleischer and Rhett Reese, 2019’s Zombieland 2 will also bring the entire core cast back together. Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin will be playing Columbus, Wichita, Tallahassee, and Little Rock respectively. Of course, it looks like producers are poised to add a few new main characters to the cast.

A few days back, we reported that Zoey Deutch has been cast as “love interest to Eisenberg’s Columbus”—meaning things didn’t work out (romantically) with Stone’s Wichita. Today, however, brings news that Stone may have a new beau herself: Deadline has announced that Avan Jogia has been cast as “Berkeley” (no doubt a moniker that indicates his home geography).
“Jogia will play Berkeley, the epitome of the bad boy musician that you would hate for your daughter to fall in love with.”
If he really is from Berkeley, CA, we can also assume he smokes a ton of weed and is a pro hacky sacker.
Synopsis:
Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
It’ll be ages until we get a trailer, but you can stroll down Memory Lane by giving the original Zombieland synopsis and trailer a whirl below.
