James Wan’s Possessed ANNABELLE Doll Has a Cameo in AQUAMAN
James Wan and his number one partner in crime Leigh Whannell are big fans of hiding Easter Eggs in their films. The tricycle-riding Billy puppet from the Saw franchise has been seen in both Dead Silence and The Conjuring, for example. Most recently, Whannell gave Wan a personal shout-out in his solo effort, Upgrade. Now, we’re getting word that Wan has an especially sinister Easter Egg planted in his impending Aquaman movie—one that will definitely strike a chord with horror fans.
Look for the possessed doll Annabelle in an underwater scene. Wan gave fans the heads-up in an interview with our friends at CinemaBlend:
“It’s very brief, but she makes a cameo on the ocean floor, in a scene where Arthur Curry and Mera are entering her ship, about to embark on a mission.”
Aquaman splashes into theaters on December 21st; you can check out the synopsis and trailer at the bottom of the article. As for Annabelle, don’t expect her to remain waterlogged for too long; a third spinoff featuring the now iconic devil-doll is currently in post-production, eyeing a July 3rd, 2019 release date.
