Jason Blum Auctions Custom Pumpkin-Colored 2-Piece Suit from HALLOWEEN Premiere

Blumhouse founder Jason Blum has always been known for his offbeat style. Anyone who’s seen him in person will tell you about his eccentric taste in socks. So, when this year’s Halloween sequel had its world premiere at TIFF this year, Blum hit the red carpet in something both extremely stylish and supremely apropos: A custom made 2-piece pumpkin-colored suite.

According to THR, the bidding began back on November 19th when Blum asked his Twitter followers: “Who wants the orange suit I wore to the Halloween premiere?” He went on to explain: “If someone is willing to pay real money, I will give total amount to one of three nonprofits I support.” The outfit was created by Blum’s frequent collaborator, costume designer Lisa Norcia.

Robert Eager, founder of the Atlanta-based production company Buckhead Film Group, beat the competition with a winning bid of $2,000 and Blum will contribute the sum to New York’s Public Theater (where the maverick filmmaker sites on the Board of Directors). When asked what he plans to do with the suit, Eager says he plans on using it as a Halloween costume, though it may require new alterations:

“I don’t think I am as tall or as fit as Jason, so I am going to get creative with some alterations. I have so much respect for Jason and what he’s done with his production company.”

I don’t mind admitting I’m a bit jealous; I’d love to rock Blum’s pumpkin beauty for Halloween 2019. And speaking of Halloween, if you missed the record-breaking slasher phenomenon while it was in theaters, it’ll be arriving on DVD on January 15th, so hang tight. You can pass the time with the synopsis and trailer below.

Synopsis:
