Screenwriter to Join Dread Central’s Free NYC Screening of THE FINAL WISH

“Careful what you wish for” never had more dire circumstances than in The Final Wish, the new film from the creator of the Final Destination franchise. And now you can attend our free screening in New York City! Dread Central will be hosting an East Coast premiere of The Final Wish on Tuesday, January 8 at Brooklyn’s great Alamo Drafthouse Cinema drafthouse.com/nyc (445 Albee Square West; 718-513-2547). The movie, the latest from Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick, stars horror favorites Lin Shaye (Insidious) and Tony Todd (Candyman), as well as Michael Welch (Z Nation), Spencer Locke (Insidious: The Last Key) and Douglas Tait (Unfriended: Dark Web). Silencer’s Timothy Woodward Jr. directed from a screenplay by Reddick, William Halfon, and Jonathan Doyle. Co-writer Halfon will be attending the screening and doing a Q&A after the movie.

Dread’s The Final Wish screening will be a free show; to obtain tickets, fill out the screening form below. Offer is good for you and your guests (the more the merrier!). Seating is not guaranteed, so arrive early. Doors open at 7 pm. Dread’s Tony Timpone will host.

The story: With the unexpected passing of his father, Aaron (Welch) tries to come to terms with his grief while supporting his devastated mother (Shaye). Sifting through his father’s belongings, Aaron comes upon an urn that is far more than it seems. As his wants and wishes start coming true, Aaron thinks his prayers have been answered until he realizes the price of this good fortune is much more than he bargained for.

The Final Wish has been garnering raves ever since it hit the festival circuit this year. Luke Y. Thompson of The Nerdist said, “An effective Final Destination twist on ‘The Monkey’s Paw,’” while We Live Entertainment’s Staci Wilson called the movie, “a creepy cautionary tale…serves to chill the bones and send a shiver here and there.” And Jimmy O of Arrow in the Head noted The Final Wish builds, “a slow-burning sense of dread” and “makes for an engaging thriller.”

This exclusive event is presented by our friends at Cinedigm, who are releasing The Final Wish in theaters nationwide January 24 in conjunction with Fathom Events. The trailer is below and you can go to the film’s Facebook page here.

Dread will debut an exclusive Final Wish clip next week, so watch this space!
