David Harbour Describes Extreme Violence We’ll See in HELLBOY

As disappointed as we all were to hear that Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman divorced the Hellboy franchise after producing two fantastic films, and as skeptical as we were when we heard the budget for the upcoming reboot is much smaller than its predecessors, we just can’t help ourselves but be excited about Neil Marshall’s Hellboy, arriving in US theaters on April.

The trailer, which dropped like pre-Christmas gift from Santa (or Satan), looks amazing and, in a recent interview for Empire Magazine’s Ultimate 2019 Preview issue star David Harbour described the extreme violence fans can expect:

“You’re chopping their heads off, you’re bathing in their blood and you’re feeling the complex feelings of actually cutting the heart out of another thing. We’re taking the time to deal with the fact that Hellboy is a killer. He’s a weapon.”

Remember, del Toro’s Hellboy movies were beautiful, but both were rated PG-13. Marshall’s Hellboy is rated R—and it sounds like it’s going to be a hard R at that! If you missed the trailer last week, give it a spin below.
