As Foy predicted when we first learned about Snowmaggedon, Syfy’s upcoming film about a snow globe with the power to destroy the world, the network has set a premiere date for the flick just in time to usher in the holiday season – Saturday, December 10th, to be exact.
From the Press Release:
Syfy will present the Saturday Original Movie Snowmageddon on Saturday, December 10th, at 9PM (ET/PT) during the channel’s second annual Countdown to Christmas Week.
Starring Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”), David Cubitt (“Medium”), and Magda Apanowicz (“Caprica”), the Christmas-themed Snowmageddon is about a mystical snow globe that makes very bad things happen in the real world when it is shaken. The movie is a production of Cinetel.
When the Miller family discovers a mysterious gift outside their home on Christmas Eve, they could never imagine it would contain the power to doom their idyllic mountain community. The gift contains a snow globe with a perfect reflection of their own town inside. When they shake it, snow even begins to fall – whatever happens inside the snow globe happens to their town for real. But when buttons on the snow globe unleash a series of terrible disasters on the town, the family must band together and find a way to destroy it – before it’s too late.
Following Snowmageddon, Syfy’s next holiday movie will be a St. Patrick’s Day-themed Leprechaun movie, debuting on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17, 2012.
