VENOM Gets the “Honest Trailer” Treatment
The folks at Screen Rant have amassed legions of followers for their snarky yet spot-on assessments of today’s biggest genre offerings in the form of “Honest Trailers”. How many times have moviegoers felt misled by a promo that promises boatloads of excitement for a film that turns out to be extremely lackluster? The irony of “Honest Trailers” is that they arrive too late to give us a truly objective look at the films we spend our hard-earned dollars on.
Their latest subject (victim?) is Venom, a movie that’s grossed almost a billion dollars despite only receiving mixed reviews. Horror fans, of course, were disappointed when Sony walked back their promise of an R-rated superhero flick, but sometimes a movie doesn’t need a ton of gore in order to deliver major thrills.
