Teaser Trailer for LORDS OF CHAOS Sets the Stage for the Death of “Dead”

Regular Dread Central readers know that I’m a huge proponent of the upcoming black metal biopic Lords of Chaos, a film that tells the story of the seminal Norwegian band Mayhem. It made my personal list of the Top 10 horror movies that screened during 2018’s Fantastic Film Festival (link below) and, while it’s not a straight-up genre flick, it sports excruciating practical effects and a soundtrack that will melt your face off!

While we’re still waiting for an official trailer, today brings the first teaser for Lords of Chaos. Narrated by Euronymous (Rory Culkin), it introduces Mayhem’s first singer, Dead (Jack Kilmer), an extreme metal vocalist who would live up to his namesake. Give it a spin at the top of the article.

Synopsis:
A teenager’s quest to launch Norwegian Black Metal in Oslo in the 1980s results in a very violent outcome. Lords of Chaos tells the true story of True Norwegian Black Metal and its most notorious practitioners – a group of young men with a flair for publicity, church-burning and murder: MAYHEM.

Jonas Åkerlund directs Lords of Chaos from a screenplay based on the nonfiction novel of the same name. Look for it in select theaters February 8th and VOD on February 22nd.
