Sex, Drugs & a Bloody Prostitute: Check Out Our Exclusive Clip from PIERCING

Unless you’re immersed in the minutia of horror and well-versed in the genre’s newest generation of movers and shakers, you could watch The Eyes of My Mother and Piercing and have no idea they’re both the brainchild of the same filmmaker. The first is an arthouse, deadly serious exploration of the bonds of motherhood that’s brutal with beautiful subtext; the other is a black comedy, psycho-sexual meta-horror. Both, however, are helmed by Nicolas Pesce.

I had the opportunity to see Piercing when it screened at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas last summer. Now, the film is slated to hit select theaters and VOD outlets beginning February 1st. Today, Dread Central is pleased to share the exclusive clip embedded at the top of the article. Though it’s difficult to tell who’s the cat and who’s the mouse in this scenario, one thing is clear: Things are getting really fucked up!

Give it a spin above, followed by the synopsis and (NSFW/red band) trailer for Piercing below.

Synopsis:
In this twisted love story, a man seeks out an unsuspecting stranger to help him purge the dark torments of his past. His plan goes awry when he encounters a woman with plans of her own. A playful psycho-thriller game of cat-and-mouse based on Ryû Murakami’s novel.

Piercing features ground breaking performances by Christopher Abbott (It Comes at Night, The Sinner, Girls) and Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak, Stoker, Alice In Wonderland). The film is the second feature film for writer and director Nicolas Pesce, who is currently in post-production on his next film, the reboot of The Grudge.
