There’s Already a Teaser for Jason Reitman’s GHOSTBUSTERS Sequel
Yesterday night, it was revealed that Jason Reitman would be directing a Ghostbusters sequel set in the same universe as the original two films. Today, a teaser has been released that does a pretty damn good job at getting me rather hyped for the 2020 film!
In it, we see a creepy barn at night, mysterious lights flashing and shining through the wooden slats. The camera follows the ground into the barn where we see a strange shape underneath a large canvas. As it billows away in the wind, we see that the object is the Ecto-1, the famous car from the first two films. All the while, Elmer Bernstein’s classic score is playing, heralding a new journey in this franchise.
No information about the film, other than the fact that it exists, has currently been released. However, more will be coming, says director Reitman.
“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet,” he told EW.
He continues by saying, “I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans.” Reitman then adds, “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”
