Be Patient With This Exclusive WRETCH Clip and You’ll Be Richly Rewarded

Crafting an effective scare is all about timing. Some scares are immediate bursts out of nowhere, the kind that might sometimes be called a “jump scare”, while others build slowly, taking their time to craft something special. The latter is the one we’re working with today as we premiere a clip from the upcoming psychological horror/thriller Wretch, a film that’s being described as “The Blair Witch Project on acid.”

In the clip, which you can see above, we see Megan Massie’s character Abby wake up after hearing a strange noise. Slowly, she moves past the darkened rooms of her home towards what appears to be the living room. Inside is… Well, you should watch the clip and see for yourself but it’s certainly not pretty!

“I’m a horror fanatic,” says writer/director Brian Cunningham, “Specifically the psychological variety that gets under your skin and makes you question what you’re watching. It was great to dive straight into the darker recesses of the genre and try to make something that really gets inside your head.”

Wretch follows three friends struggling to piece together fractured memories after a drug-fueled night in the woods. In the process, they’re forced to confront guilt, jealousy, and a supernatural presence that threatens to expose their true natures.

Written and directed by Brian Cunningham, Wretch stars Spencer Korcz, Megan Massie, and Riker Hill. It hits Digital platforms and OnDemand on January 29. You can pre-order the film on iTunes.
