Will 2019 Be the Year of THE FLY?

Okay, pump the breaks…

We knew there had been talks of rebooting 1986’s The Fly (which is itself a reboot of Kurt Neumann’s 1958 film of the same name) with Sleight director J.D. Dillard at the helm and serving as the script’s co-writer. We covered the news way back in April of 2017 (link below). Now, a recent video from WhatCulture is including Dillard’s The Fly on their list of 10 horror remakes hitting theaters in 2019.

WhatCulture cites “media sources” but doesn’t list which ones, and my personal Spidey-Sense says they may have gotten this one wrong. Still, it’s enough to make us wonder if The Fly is still buzzing?

We’ll keep our ears to the ground to see what we can find out about these rumors about The Fly. Stay tuned. You can check out WhatCulture’s video list of 2019 horror remakes below.
