CW Finally Orders Pilot for THE LOST BOYS TV Series Reboot

“Sleep all day, party all night… it’s fun to be a vampire!”

It’s been over two years since The CW first announced plans to reboot Joel Schumacher’s seminal vampire horror movie The Lost Boys (released in 1987) as a TV series. Now, it looks like the network is finally making good on their promise, as today brings word an official pilot has been given the green light. Deadline was the first to drop the exciting news

“The CW originally developed a series adaptation of the iconic 1987 Warner Bros horror comedy movie The Lost Boys with [Rob] Thomas writing during the 2016-17 development season. While the project didn’t go to pilot, the network brass remained very high on the title and had been looking to redevelop it. While Thomas has been busy with his Veronica Mars reboot for Hulu, a take by writer Heather Mitchell (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy) got everyone excited, and the new adaptation picked up steam this development season.”

Synopsis:
Teenage brothers Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move with their mother (Dianne Wiest) to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), the angst-ridden Michael soon falls for Star (Jami Gertz) — who turns out to be in thrall to David (Kiefer Sutherland), leader of a local gang of vampires. Sam and his new friends must save Michael and Star from the undead.
