Production Has Started on THE BOY 2 Starring Katie Holmes

We’ve been following news of the sequel to 2016’s The Boy (working titled The Boy 2) since the project was first announced on October 23rd. The film will star Katie Holmes as Liza; she may seem like a strange choice for a genre flick, until you realize she’s got experience; though best-known as the actress who played adolescent Joey on Dawson’s Creek in the 1990s, she’s since appeared in Disturbing Behavior, Abandon, and Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

It’s been about two months since we last got casting news. To recap: Christopher Convery (Gotham, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) will play Holmes’ onscreen son; Ralph Ineson (The Witch) and Owain Yeoman (The Belko Experiment) both been retained for The Boy 2 as well. Today, however, we can officially report that the film has begun production in Vancouver.

Synopsis:
Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.

The Boy 2 reunites original director and scribe William Brent Bell and Stacey Menear respectively. We don’t have a target release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted as details emerge. Stay tuned!
