SLIPKNOT’s Corey Taylor Working With FX Legend Tom Savini on New Mask

Speaking on a recent episode of the Let There Be Talk podcast, Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor revealed that the new mask he will be using for the upcoming album cycle is being created by none other than horror FX legend Tom Savini!

“He’s the godfather to me,” Corey tells the Let There Be Talk podcast.” Got to hang out with him, got to talk with him. Met him through a friend who actually works with him. And the three of us were kind of developing this new mask together so I’m kind of fuckin’ chuffed on that.”

Taylor recently posted a teaser of the new mask on his Instagram, although very little can be discerned from the photo. He also posted photos of his time at Savini’s house where he tried various masks and props, including the “cock gun” from From Dusk till Dawn.

Slipknot are hard at work on a new album, which will be the follow-up to 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter. They recently released a new track titled “All Out Life”, which you can listen to above.
