THE WALKING DEAD Renewed for Season 10; Teaser Whispers Premiere Date
We’re less than a week away from the Season 9 return of The Walking Dead, airing to AMC this Sunday, February 10th. While the series isn’t the rating juggernaut it once was, it’s still a huge draw for AMC, who recently announced plans for The Walking Dead movies that will serve as companion pieces to the show.
So, while no one was really worried the show would be cancelled, we’re getting word that The Walking Dead has officially been renewed for a 10th Season. More accurately, we’re hearing whispers. The announcement was made via Twitter, and includes a cryptic message from The Whisperers clan: “S10ctober”. What does it mean: Season 10 will kick of in October of 2019.
This Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead, “Adaptation”, is directed by Greg Nicotero. Check out a synopsis and trailer for the second half of Season 9 below.
Synopsis:
Season 9 finds our groups of survivors,
both old and new, continuing to deal with the impact of events that took place
during the six years that have passed. Since the disappearance of Rick, many of
these characters have become strangers to each other, and in some ways,
strangers to themselves. What they do know is that they are in undeniable
danger. They will soon realize the world just beyond does not operate as they
thought. The group’s rules and ways of survival no longer guarantee their
safety. A whole new threat has crossed their paths, and they soon discover it’s
unlike any threat they have encountered or endured before. The group will start
to question what they think they see. What may appear to be normal in this
post-apocalyptic world could actually be more disturbing and terrifying than
when the apocalypse first broke out. All that is certain is the stakes are high
and numerous.
