Dark Horse to Publish HELLBOY: 25 YEARS OF COVERS as Hardcover Collector’s Edition

If Neil Marshall’s Hellboy reboot, arriving in theaters this April, is the success everyone is predicting, expect interest in the source material to surge. It’s been 25-years since Hellboy creator Mike Mignola first introduced us to the titular antihero in a comic called Hellboy: Seed of Destruction. Now, we’re getting word that Dark Horse plans to release a hardcover coffee-table book, Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers this July—just in time to capitalize on the movie’s buzz.

Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers is a deluxe, oversized hardcover collection that includes more than 150 full-page cover pieces from artists including Mignola, Richard Corben, Duncan Fegredo, and more, featuring an introduction by colorist Dave Stewart and a foreword by Mignola. The release of Hellboy: 25 Years of Covers continues Dark Horse’s yearlong celebration of Mignola and his legendary creation, highlighted by Hellboy Day on March 23, 2019.

And speaking of Hellboy Day, here’s something that will excite all comic book fans:

For 2019’s Hellboy Day celebration, Dark Horse will publish a 25th anniversary, promotional edition of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction issue 1, featuring a new cover by Mignola and colorist Dave Stewart, which will be given away at participating comic book shops; and select stores across the country will host Hellboy Day events.

You can check out the synopsis and trailer for Marshall’s Hellboy remake below. The film stars Milla Jovovich, David Harbour, and Ian McShane; look for it in US theaters beginning April 12th.
