Corey Feldman Joins Other FRIDAY THE 13th Alum in Meta Fan Film 13 FANBOY
Since the ongoing lawsuit between original Friday the 13th scribe Victor Miller and the film’s director Sean Cunningham remains contentious, the future of the franchise is nebulous. Luckily, some truly skilled filmmakers have stepped in to fill the void with exceptional fan films. Now, we’re getting word that Friday the 13th Part 4 actor Corey Feldman (who played Tommy Jarvis) has signed on for 13 Fanboy, a tribute to Jason Voorhees that sounds like nothing we’ve seen before.
13 Fanboy is about a deranged killer who hunts down actresses who have appeared in past Friday the 13th movies, not realizing the franchise is pure fiction. Best of all, the cast is comprised almost completely by Friday the 13th Alumni. Though Feldman’s part is being described as a mere cameo, he’ll be joining the likes of Kane Hodder, Judie Aronson, Thom Mathews, and Deborah Voorhees (who is also directing the film)!
13 Fanboy recently surpassed their funding goal on Indiegogo where co-scribe Joel Paul Reisig states:
Our horror thriller brings your favorite Friday the 13th actors back to the big screen in an entirely new horror series about a fan, who takes his love for the series too far and targets the real-life women from the franchise to kill them like they were killed in the Friday films or “improve” their deaths. 13 Fanboy melds the slasher-style kills that Friday is famous for and the heart-pounding thrillers such as Hush and Cape Fear. We will be using all practical effects, NO CGI, to honor the 80s slashers.
Sounds like a winner! We don’t have a trailer yet, but the poster, below, is pretty sick!
