First Draft of TERRIFIER 2 Has Been Written!

2018 was a landmark year for Dread Central. It was when we transitioned from being reporters of genre news to producers of top-tier horror content. Following our acquisition by Epic Pictures, the horror distribution arm Dread (formerly Dread Central Presents) was formed, and we’ve strived to release a new movie every month since. Our latest, The Golem, is Dread’s first original, and it’s already getting outstanding reviews.

But in 2018, our biggest success was Terrifier, written and directed by Damien Leone. The film instantly made Art the Clown (played to perfection by David Howard Thornton) a 21st Century horror icon. Don’t believe me? Just attend any of today’s biggest genre conventions and count the number of Art the Clown cosplayers and fan art you encounter. You’ll run out of fingers (and toes) fast.

Considering the notoriety Terrifier received (not to mention the controversy it stirred), fans have been chomping at the bit to learn more about Art the Clown, his motivations and origins, in a sequel. Though Leone and Thornton have both hinted that a follow-up is in the works, we now have confirmation that the first draft of Terrifier 2 has been completed!

We got the news from our own co-founder Steve Barton (aka Uncle Creepy) who tweeted out the scintillating picture below. What I wouldn’t do to get my hands on that beauty (and I don’t mean the mug)!

Obviously, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any and all Terrifier 2-related news as details emerge. In the meantime, check out the synopsis and trailer for 2018’s Terrifier below. The film is currently streaming on Netflix and available on Blu-ray/DVD from Epic Pictures, HERE.

Synopsis:
A maniacal clown terrorizes three young women and anyone else in his way on Hallow’een night.
