2nd ESCAPE ROOM Targets 2020 Release
Escape Room, directed by Adam Robitel, was released on January 4th, making it the first major studio horror movie of 2019. It was also… pretty good. Look, I wouldn’t expect to see it on any Top 10 Horror Movies of 2019 lists this December, but great sets, talented actors, and entertaining twists made it worth the price of admission.
Columbia Pictures must see franchise potential, because the recently announced Robitel will be back for an Escape Room sequel, along with original writer Bragi F. Schut. The film is on a fast track with the studio eyeing a January 2020 release date. Deadline got the scoop.
If you missed Escape Room while it was in theaters, it should be breaking out onto VOD and Blu-ray/DVD in the upcoming weeks. We’ll keep you posted. You can check out the film’s synopsis and trailer below.
Synopsis:
Six adventurous strangers travel to a
mysterious building to experience the escape room — a game where players
compete to solve a series of puzzles to win $10,000. What starts out as
seemingly innocent fun soon turns into a living nightmare as the four men and
two women discover each room is an elaborate trap that’s part of a sadistic
game of life or death.
Escape Room stars Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, and Jay Ellis.
