No Shark-Themed Horror Movie This Summer? 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED Delayed

Shark-themed horror movies have become an annual tradition in recent years. We got The Shallows in 2016, 47 Meters Down in 2017, and The Meg in 2018. This summer, vacationers who prefer movie theaters to open water are looking forward to 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.

Unfortunately, it’ll be closer to fall before we see it. We just got word from our friends at Bloody Disgusting that 47 Meters Down: Uncaged has been bumped back by a couple of months from June to August 16th, 2019. The change is also reflected on the film’s IMDB page.

Hopefully, horror fans will still be interested in dipping their toes into shark-infested waters when the summer months begin to cool. Time will tell.

Synopsis:
The film will tell the story of fourteens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

Johannes Roberts returns to the director’s chair, bringing along the last film’s co-scribe Ernest Riera. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged stars Nia Long, John Corbett, and Sophie Nélisse.
