IT: CHAPTER TWO May Literally Be the Bloodiest Movie Ever Made
Considering 2017’s IT: Chapter One was a smashing success among horror fans and critics alike, it doesn’t take much to get us excited for the follow-up/conclusion, IT: Chapter Two, arriving in theaters on September 6th, 2019. But some comments Jessica Chastain (who plays adult Beverly Marsh) recently made on The Tonight Show have us beyond elated. If she’s right, IT: Chapter Two might be the bloodiest horror movie ever made—like, literally!
“Okay, I’m going to say something, and I think I’m going to be in trouble, but I’m going to do it. It might be a spoiler. But in the movie, there’s a scene that someone said on set that it’s the most blood that’s ever been in a horror film in a scene. And I’ll tell you, the next day I was like pulling blood out of my eyeballs.”
More blood then the elevator scene in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining? More blood then the mattress scene from Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street? More blood that the climax of Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead (a film in which it actually rained blood)? We’re talking a hell of a lot of blood here folks!
We can keep our fingers crossed that a trailer for IT: Chapter Two will be coming down the pike in the not too distant future. The film reunites director Andy Muschietti and Gary Dauberman; in addition to Chastain, the film stars James McAvoy, Bill Skarsgård, and Javier Botet.
