Poster for Robert Rodriguez’s RED 11 Drops in Advance of SXSW Premiere
It’s Day 1 of South by Southwest (SXSW) 2019 and the festivities are in full swing. Tonight, those lucky enough to have scored passes will be able to attend the world premiere of Jordan Peele’s Us. The film/music/media festival will end on Sunday, March 17th with the premiere of Pet Sematary. In between, there will be more genre flicks to enjoy than is humanly possible to consume. It’s basically a horror fan’s wet dream.
One of the flicks on our radar is Robert Rodriguez’s Red 11. It’s screening at the Atom Theater at Austin Convention Center on Tuesday, March 12th at 6:00 PM. Best of all, Rodriguez will be in attendance to participate in a Q&A. In advance of the film’s premiere, Troublemaker Studios has just dropped the fantastic poster below.
Synopsis:
Adapted from a script written 25 years
ago that was based on Robert Rodriguez’s experiences in a Medical Research
Facility, Red 11 is a
Horror/Thriller set in a dark, twisted version of the Legal Drug Research
world. At these Facilities, young guys become Lab Rats to make quick money, but
our hero RED 11 is here to buy his way out of a huge debt to the tune of
$7,000. This story shows the quirks, characters, and comedy of Robert’s
experiences of being a human Lab Rat, but with a sci fi and horror twist,
because while under the influence of experimental drugs, Red 11 doesn’t know if
what’s in front of him is fact or fiction.
Red 11 stars Roby Attal, Lauren Hatfield, Carlos Gallardo, Alejandro Rose Garcia, Rebel Rodriguez, Racer Rodriguez, Eman Esfandi, Steven Brudniak, Brently Heilbron, and Pierce Foster Bailey.
Hopefully, Red 11 will pick up distribution at SXSW and those of us who aren’t lucky enough to attend will be able to enjoy it soon as well. We’ll keep you posted!
