More Chemical Wedding Details!
Although the enthusiasm for this project may leave something to be desired, I can’t help but soak up any and all info about Bruce Dickinson’s Chemical Wedding, so you’re just going to have to deal with it.
The Iron Maiden frontman’s script is currently in production, and today one of our spies out there found a link with a bit more info about the film than what was initially reported (“Dickinson’s Chemical Wedding Rolls” – August 2007).
As you know, Chemical Wedding is about a Cambridge professor who becomes the reincarnation of famed occultists/Satanist Aleister Crowley, who at one time was dubbed the most evil man in Britan. According to Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, this reincarnation occurs when a superconductor re-animates Crowley’s spirit and he transforms the shy and stuttering Professor Haddo (played by Simon Callow) into a charismatic but sexually depraved Crowley, who causes all manor of horrors to occur at his Cambridge campus.
The film is being helmed by former Terry Gilliam editor Julian Doyle (pictured, with Dickinson), with Dickinson on soundtrack duties as well as in line for a cameo. Expect to see some familiar Monty Python faces, as well, which leads me to believe this might not be the straight-forward horror script we once thought it was. Either way we’ll be keeping an eye on it, so you keep an eye on us!
