Jordan Peele’s US Currently Sports a 100% Freshness Rating on Rotten Tomatoes

Though Jordan Peele’s follow-up to his socially conscious horror Get Out, Us, won’t be released for another week, the film enjoyed its world premiere at the SXSW festival in Austin last Thursday. The screening was widely attended and resulted in a plethora of reviews (you can read Jonathan Barkan’s take on the film, HERE).

Now, the folks at Rotten Tomatoes have tallied the numbers and, at the time of this posting, Us hold’s a perfect freshness rating of 100%! While the number is likely to drop before hitting a reliable median, it bodes extremely well for the film, both critically and financially. We live in an age where many people (for better or worse) take the recommendations of Rotten Tomatoes as gospel.

Us hit US theaters nationwide on Friday, March 22nd. Check out the synopsis and trailer below.

Synopsis:
Accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen to her family. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, each stranger takes the appearance of a different family member.

Us stars Lupita Nyong’o, Elisabeth Moss, and Anna Diop.
