Clip from Sunday’s Season Finale of THE WALKING DEAD Hints at Carol’s Return to the Dark Side
Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead was like a gut-punch—times 10! While none of the characters who died were major, we lost many friends we’ve made along the way, and the implications moving forward are profound. The stage is set for another massive throw-down, with Alexandria, The Hilltop, The Kingdom, and Seaside signing a protection pact that states a hit against one community is a hit against them all. And the Whisperers certainly made quite an impact!
The character most effected by last night’s bloodbath is most certainly Carol (Melissa McBride). She lost another kid! How much sorrow can one woman take? She only recently ended her hermitage and, at some point during the time jump, became Ezekiel’s “Queen” and Henry’s “mother”. She was happy. Now, we may be seeing a return to the old, tough-as-nails Carol who fucked shit up without a shred of empathy or humanity.
Will Carol slip back to the dark side? In the clip embedded at the top of the article, we see that something is brewing inside her—and she’s conflicted in how she feels about Lydia (Cassady McCliny). So, what do you guys think? Will Carol become the bad-ass she’s been in past seasons again? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
The season finale of The Walking Dead Season 9 goes down this Sunday on AMC at 9 PM.
