What if Superman Was a Very Bad Boy? Extended Trailer for BRIGHBURN Flips the Superhero Script
The premise of Brightburn seems relatively straight forward: What if a powerful extraterestrial like Superman came to Earth, but things didn’t work out as well as they did for Clark Kent? What if, as a child, this would-be hero took another path? The answer is anything but simple, and the potential for terror is high.
The latest trailer for Brightburn, produced by James Gunn, includes crushed hands, glass in eyes, murder, mayhem–and even a plane crash. This isn’t the story we’ve seen so many times in comic books. Horror fans are hoping this could finally be the R-rated, ultraviolent superhero flick we’ve been waiting for.

What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? Brightburn is directed by David Yarovesky from a screenplay penned by Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn; the film stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, and Matt Jones. Look for Brightburn to crash into US theaters begining May 24th.
