(Description) Footage from IT: CHAPTER TWO Shocks Audiences at CinemaCon

The buzz out of the annual CinemaCon this morning was all about IT: Chapter Two, arriving in US theaters nationwide this September. Footage screened to a packed house featured Jessica Chastain as a grown-up Beverly Marsh, returning to Derry after 27 years to deal with the death of her father.

Things run off the rails extremely quickly. An old woman who let her into her old appartments says something along the lines of “No one who dies in Derry really dies” before stripping naked and attacking Chastain. Lots of blood, lots of red ballons, lots of terrified (and satisfied) audience members!

For a more detailed rundown of what was screened, check out the video embedded at the top of the article from 3C Films.

IT: Chapter Two is directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay penned by Gary Dauberman. In addition to Chastain, the film stars James McAvoy, Bill Skarsgård, and Javier Botet. Look for it in US theaters begining September 6th.
