Arachnophobes, beware! The latest creature feature confection from producer Roger Corman and director Jim Wynorski will be skittering its eight legs to DVD shelves this March. Save us, Brian Krause! Save us, C. Thomas Howell! Save us from these big mutant Camel Spiders!
Based on actual creatures that for years have tormented our armed forces in the Middle East, these creatures have now invaded the southwestern deserts of the United States. The camel spiders now freely hunt for prey, unafraid of any predator – including man. No place is safe; no one is beyond their paralyzing sting. In the end a small band of hearty fighters are forced to make one last stand against the creatures.
Brian Krause of “Charmed” and C. Thomas Howell of 25% of all direct-to-DVD movies of the past two decades star in the Roger Corman/Cinetel co-production Camel Spiders from the director of Chopping Mall and Dinocroc vs. Supergator that Starz/Anchor Bay Entertainment will be releasing on DVD and Blu-ray March 27th.
I was under the impression that this film was intended for Syfy but have yet to hear of any air date thus far. It sure as hell looks like a Syfy movie.
There was a teaser trailer online earlier this year that has since vanished. I did come across a strange trailer-ish promo for the movie, which it would seem has already been released in Russia.
Bet you didn’t know giant camel spiders squeal like pigs when attacked? See how educational b-movies can be?
