Exclusive: HEREDITARY’s Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen Join Jury for ScreenCraft Horror Screenplay Competition
For filmmakers, the chance to have your script looked at my industry professionals is a pretty incredible and potentially life-changing opportunity. This is why something like the ScreenCraft Horror Screenplay competition could be something truly special for writers who want to get recognition and their foot in the door. From those who enter (they’re anticipating over 1,000 scripts to be submitted), one will get $1,000 cash as well as a call with Hollywood managers and/or agents and an introduction of their project to studio execs and producers. A second place prize of $500 cash, a call with a literary manager, and circulation of your logline to a team of producers, developers, and more, will also be awarded. There are also prizes for the top 3 finalists.
Winners of previous competitions have gone on to be signed by managers, agents, and have been hired for additional writing assignments, so this can definitely lead somewhere!
Jury members this year include Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek, XYZ Films’ Pip Ngo, Monkeypaw Productions’ Brittany Klesick, Good Fear’s Juan He, and Hereditary writer/director Ari Aster and producer Lars Knudsen.
To enter, simply go to ScreenCraft’s official website for rules, information, and more!
