Abandoned Sales Trailer for FREDDY VS JASON Produced in 1997 is a Tasty Bit of Horror Nostalgia
Freddy vs Jason, the most epic battle royale between upper echelon horror villains, is now available to stream on Netflix, putting the film back in the forefront of popular consciousness. Though the film was released in 2003, the wheels started turning on the project almost a decade earlier. As proof, the folks at Horror Ads recently unearthed an abandoned sales trailer created for the film way back in 1997.
It doesn’t include any footage or concept art, but it’s still a tasty bit of nostalgia for Elm Street and Friday the 13th fans. Give it a spin below, followed by the synopsis and trailer for Freddy vs Jason.
Synopsis:
Two horror icons face off in this supernatural movie. Disfigured serial killer Freddy Krueger, who attacks his victims in their dreams, has lost much of his power since citizens of his town have become less afraid of him. Enlisting the help of fellow violent murderer Jason Voorhees, Freddy orchestrates a new killing spree. However, when the hockey-mask-wearing psychopath won’t stop chopping up Freddy’s intended victims, the two ghouls start to battle each other.
Freddy vs Jason is directed by Ronny Yu and stars Robert Englund, Ken Kirzinger, and Kelly Rowland.
