Billie Eilish’s Latest Video is Pure Animated Horror Glory

Until earlier today, I’d never heard the name Billie Eilish. I’ve since learned that the 17-year-old is one of the hottest music artists working today and that her songs are generating millions of plays across, well…everything. Out of interest in keeping abreast of today’s cultural trends, I decided to listen to a few songs to see what’s what. It just so happened that one of the videos I clicked on, “You Should See Me in a Crown”, is pure nightmare fuel and goddamn do I think it needs to be on here!

The video was created by Takashi Murakami, a Japanese contemporary artist who often mixes darker imagery with what might be considered “cute” or “charming”. The end result here is an animated video where Eilish transforms into a giant spider creature that rampages through a major city, scooping up people with her gaping maw. It’s kinda incredible and the song is pretty catchy too, so bonus!

“You Should See Me in a Crown” appears on Eilish’s album When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? You can order your copy here.
