Trailer: Catch Up on KRUEGER: TALES FROM ELM STREET Before the Popular Web Series’ Final NEW TALE This Summer

We recently featured the work of Chris R. Notarile when we shared his incredible Halloween fan film, Myers: The Butcher of Haddonfield, last month (link below). But this was hardly the writer/director’s first foray into filmmaking. In fact, for the past eight years, he’s been the driving force behind the immensely popular web series Krueger: Tales from Elm Street, a project that focuses on the one aspect of Freddy Hollywood wouldn’t touch: His life before becoming the King of Nightmares.

The finale for Tales from Elm Street will run on the series’ Facebook Page on June 6th. I recently asked Notarile to give me a rundown of Tales from Elm Street for those of us (myself included) who only recently learned about it. I also asked about what fans can look forward to in the series’ final installment.

Krueger: Tales from Elm Street is a six-part web series that chronicles the life and death of everyone’s favorite Springwood Slasher, Freddy Krueger. The series first began in 2011, with the arrest and interrogation of Freddy at the hands of Don Thompson. But due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback the first installment garnered, the series was inevitably born. With each short, we ventured further into the life of Freddy, showing how he was more than just a heartless killer, but also a dedicated family man and upstanding citizen. Portrayed seamlessly by Roberto Lombardi, we get to witness how Freddy hunts the children of Springwood. At times, things can get pretty graphics, but this series has never attempted to shy away from exposing the character of Freddy Krueger for what he has always been: A serial killer.

“Our final entry in this series is New Tale: The Demon of Elm Street, which if you haven’t already figured out, is a New Nightmare themed meta-adventure featuring not only Freddy Krueger, but the makers of the series as well. We’ve decided to release New Tale on June 6th, 2019, which will coincidentally also be Robert Englund’s birthday.”

Check out the trailer for New Tale: The Demon of Elm Street embedded at the top of the article.
