Meat Loaf Was Injured at Texas Frightmare Weekend & We Have an Update
Shock and concern hit the crowds at Texas Frightmare Weekend on Saturday when news that actor/musician/producer Meat Loaf fell on stage while being seated for a panel. We’ve known for years that the cult icon has serious spinal issues, and the tumble required immediate medical attention.
Thankfully, the folks running Texas Frightmare posted an update on Meat Loaf’s condition, and it sounds like he’s on the mend. Here’s the statement from the event’s Facebook page:
“As everyone knows Meat Loaf fell today. We wanted to keep you updated as soon as we knew something. We just found out that the hospital is keeping him overnight for observation. He will not be able to return on Sunday but he has already confirmed that he will be back in 2020! He’s a trooper and we are praying for a speedy recovery!”
Meat Loaf shot to superstardom in 1977 with his album Bat Out of Hell; two years earlier, he played Eddie in the cult megahit The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which stars Tim Curry (who was also in attendance) and Barry Bostwick (who stars in Dread’s Sley Belles).
So, send some positive, healing vibes Meat Loaf’s way. All of us here at Dread Central wish him a speedy recovery.
