Friday: RSVP for Our Free “Last Chance” Screening of THE PRODIGY with Director Nicholas McCarthy in LA!
This Friday, May 10th, Dread Central is hosting a final opportunity to see The Prodigy as it was meant to be experienced: On the big screen. It’s one of our “Last Chance” DreadVision screenings, and it’ll be immediately followed by a Q&A with director Nicholas McCarthy (moderated by yours truly).
The Prodigy is absolutely one of the best horror movies of 2019 so far, and I’m excited to discuss it with McCarthy. Without giving anything away, it’s probably not what you’d expect after watching the trailer (below). What appears to be a reimagining of The Bad Seed is something else entirely–something that absolutely took me by surprise. It’s an engrossing and nerve-shredding horror movie that I can genuinely recommend.
The “Last Chance” screening of The Prodigy is happening this Friday, May 10th at 7 pm at Hollywood’s swanky Arena Cinelounge Sunset (6464 Sunset Boulevard; 323-924-1644). It’s free and you can RSVP, HERE.
Synopsis:
Sarah and John Blume are thrilled when their young son Miles starts to show signs of rapid development and extreme intelligence. Their family bliss soon turns into a living nightmare when Miles’ behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent by his eighth birthday. After seeking help from two experts, Sarah is horrified to learn that her beloved prodigy may be under the grip of a dark and supernatural force.
The Prodigy stars Jackson Robert Scott, Taylor Schilling, and Peter Mooney.
