DREAD Presents: Suburbia Becomes a Slaughterhouse in RED LETTER DAY

How well do you know your neighbor? No, really, think about it. How familiar are you with the person who lives next door to you, the place where you’ve built your life and planted your feet? Do you trust them? Do you think they trust you? Does your relationship go beyond a nod and smile when you pass each other? If push came to shove, would you be willing to put your life in their hands?

DREAD is thrilled to announce that we’ve acquired writer/director Cameron Macgowan’s debut feature film Red Letter Day! We’ll be releasing the film later this year and Epic is currently taking the movie, along with previously announced titles Hoax, Artik, They’re Inside, and Assassinaut to Cannes where they’ll be selling international rights.

Horror Buzz hails the film as a, “…Twilight Zone episode on steroids”, adding that it will offer, “…gory and gruesome takedowns, and a feel-good family-stick-togetherness message for your viewing pleasure.”

Macgowan states, “It is truly an honor to join the DREAD Family with my first feature film Red Letter Day. This film was a labor of love for us Canadian horror junkies and we are absolutely thrilled to join DREAD’s slate of cutting edge genre cinema.”

Red Letter Day is an extremely personal film for me,” he continues. “It feels funny admitting this when discussing a film about murderous suburbanites but this odd little beast is full of my loves, my obsessions, and my satirical POV during an extremely strange and divided time in our world. As a life-long horror fan, I’ve been a huge fan of the films from DREAD & Epic Pictures and feel truly honoured to join their slate of cutting edge genre cinema with Red Letter Day.”

DREAD Director of Distribution, Rob Galluzzo, comments, “Red Letter Day is a really fun genre movie with a gleeful streak of nastiness to it! You can always expect the unexpected with the DREAD slate, and I think people will be pleasantly surprised by this gory little gem.”

A typically quiet suburban community descends into chaos and paranoia after the delivery of mysterious red letters containing deadly instructions.

Written and directed by Cameron Macgowan, Red Letter Day stars Dawn Van de Schoot, Hailey Foss, Kaeleb Zain Gartner, Roger LeBlanc (Heartland, Herschell Gordon Lewis’ BloodMania), and Tiffany Helm (Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning).
