With WHISKEY CAVALIER Canceled, Will We See More of Lauren Cohan in TWD Season 10?
The second half of The Walking Dead Season 9 contained some of the best action, drama, and horror we’ve seen in years. We can probably thank new showrunner Angela Kang for the series’ reinvigoration (even after offing both Carl and Rick). One person we can’t thank for The Walking Dead‘s turnaround, though, is Lauren Cohan.
Maggie was completely absent from the second half of The Walking Dead Season 9. It was explained that the character was off working with another colony (while retaining her position as the leader of Hilltop), but we all know that Cohan was off starring in a new series on ABC: Whiskey Cavalier.
Today brings news that ABC has canceled Whiskey Cavalier. While our hearts go out to the actors, producers, and crew who will be seeking new jobs, the zombie fan in me has to wonder: Does this mean we’ll be getting more of Cohan in The Walking Dead Season 10?
We have no idea what kind of behind the scenes maneuverings are taking place, but actors like to work, so it’s hard to imagine Cohan passing on a return to The Walking Dead. Of course, I’m not her agent so she could be fielding dozens of alternative offers as we speak. Time will tell.
We already know that Season 10 will be the last for Michonne (played by Danai Gurira) so there will definitely be a vacuum to be filled by a strong, female lead. Carol (Melissa McBride) can (but shouldn’t have to) do it all on her own!
Come back to Hilltop, Maggie! Your fans miss you–and The Walking Dead probably needs you if it’s going to shamble along for much longer!
