The CW is quite the home for horror television these days, and it sounds as if with the addition of their next sliver of supernatural spookery entitled “Cult”, things are about to get a whole lot scarier. Read on for the 411.
According to Variety, The CW has picked up the pilot “Cult” from writer Rockne O’Bannon. The show was originally developed at the WB for 2006-2007 and later again at The CW for the 2009-2010 season. From Warner Bros. Television and Fake Empire, The CW’s “Cult” will be exec produced by O’Bannon (“Farscape”, “V”) Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, and Len Goldstein.
Synopsis:
After a rash of disappearances and a likely murder, an inquisitive, young female production assistant on a wildly popular television show called “Cult” joins a journalist blogger in investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program in real life.
If the pilot is to be picked up to series, there is the possibility The CW would only order 13 episodes rather than the traditional 22.
More soon.
