Exclusive Trailer Premiere: Techno-Terror A.M.I. May Have You Putting Down Your Cell Phone–Forever
These days there are apps for everything: Apps to help you stay in shape, to help you count calories, to navigate through traffics, and to meet potential friends and lovers. But can an app replace a lost loved one? And, if so, what are the ramifications of establishing emotional connections with technology?
These questions are posed in the techno-terror A.M.I. Today, Dread Central is thrilled to bring you the exclusive trailer premiere! Give it a spin embedded at the top of the article.
Synopsis:
In this “twisted psycho-tech thriller” (Delirium Magazine), young Cassie comes across a discarded cell phone with the latest AI on it. Cassie customizes the Artificial Machine Intelligence to sound like her deceased mother which soon fills the void in Cassie’s life. As their relationship deepens, the nurturing and seemingly caring AI drives Cassie to perform heinous acts of murder convincing Cassie that they are totally justifiable.
Directed by Rusty Nixon (Residue, Candiland), A.M.I. stars Debs Howard (iZombie, TV’s The Good Doctor), Sam Robert Muik (CW’s Riverdale), Phil Granger (Syfy’s Ghost Wars), Havana Guppy (Hulu’s Shut Eye), and Bonnie Hay (TV’s A Million Little Things).
Look for A.M.I. at Redbox kiosks and on Digital and On Demand beginning July 2nd via Viva Pictures.
