Horror Icons Mourn the End of an Era for MAD MAGAZINE

Word hit the internet this morning that MAD Magazine will be officially ending publication. Later reports suggest the seminal comedy/subculture periodical will continue to exist in some form and may continue to publish archived materials. Still, it’s the end of an era and a sad one. According to ComicBook.com, blogger Jedidiah Leland reported:

“I just heard from a friend of mine who is in a Facebook group with MAD writer Stan Stinberg that, after the next two issues, MAD will no longer be publishing original material. Instead, it’ll publish reprinted material until it’s subscription responsibilities are fulfilled and then the magazine will cease publication.”

Horror icons Bruce Campbell and John Carpenter took to Twitter to lament the situation:
