Daybreakers Franchise?
While I’m sure the Spierig Brothers Undead follow-up, the futuristic vampire action movie Daybreakers, is going to be pretty damn slick, is it possible it could also be the first of a franchise?
Co-star Ethan Hawkes hopes so. In a recent interview he did with the Australian Press about his female co-conspirator on the film, Claudia Karvan (she’s the one pointing the gun in the pic there), he made a comment about how he hopes that Daybreakers is only the first of a series of films set in a future overrun by vampires.
“I have this dream Daybreakers will be Mad Max and the next will be even better,” Hawke told the press. Hawke said he was blown away be the actress’s performance in the movie and that it will be a huge career boast for her if Daybreakers does well.
The Spierig Brothers have been working on their vampire opus for a few years now, giving them what I hope was a lot of time to perfect it. When Daybreakers is finally ready to roll out, then, a big release will hopefully be a no-brainer for Lionsgate. Keep it here for more as we learn it!
