Godzilla Finally Joins Twitter And Instagram
Celebrities these days are pretty much expected to have a presence on social media, so it comes as no surprise to learn that Godzilla has now joined Twitter and Instagram. These official accounts were set up by Toho ahead of the Godzilla booth at SDCC, although sadly, the posts aren’t written from Godzilla’s point of view. Instead, their purpose is to keep fans up to date with Godzilla-related news and promotions, so be sure to go ahead and follow the King of the Monsters so you don’t miss out on a single announcement. Toho clearly has some big plans for Godzilla, so we expect some major news to come soon.
The Twitter account also features a very cool banner image which shows the various incarnations of Godzilla over the years. While the image does not include Godzilla Earth from the recent anime films, it does include the original 1954 version all the way to 2017’s Shin Godzilla, with the infamous dancing Godzilla from 1965’s Invasion of Astro-Monster thrown in for good measure. You can view the image below.
In other Godzilla-related news, his latest blockbuster, King of the Monsters (review), has currently grossed a modest $384 million worldwide. While this amount is hardly terrible, it’s still significantly below expectations, so go and see it a second time if you can.
