John Carpenter Confirms TWO New HALLOWEEN Sequels: HALLOWEEN KILLS And HALLOWEEN ENDS
After the massive success of last year’s Halloween, which has become the highest-grossing slasher of all time, it was only a question of when, not if, a sequel would be announced. Today, that question has been answered in the most exciting of ways: there will be not one but TWO sequels!
Telling audiences, “The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn’t over”, Carpenter’s tweet confirms that the sequel, Halloween Kills, will come out October 16, 2020 while the third film, Halloween Ends, is confirmed for an October 15, 2021 release date.
Halloween Kills will be written by David Gordon Green & Danny McBride & Scott Teems, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. The film will be directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Ryan Freimann are executive producers.
Halloween Ends will be written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, and Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier, based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. The film will be directed by David Gordon Green and produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and Ryan Freimann are executive producers.
Ryan Turek is overseeing both projects for Blumhouse.
Producer Jason Blum confirmed that writer/director David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are back along with actress Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter, who executive produced last year’s release.
Halloween, which was a Blumhouse production, was directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, and Jeff Fradley.
