DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Will Be Marvel’s First Horror Movie!

Next up in our recap of the most interesting news out of San Diego Comic-Con 2019: The reveal that a sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange will be a straight-up horror movie–the first in Marvel’s cinematic history! The announcement was made by director Scott Derrickson.

Not only will Derrickson return to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but he also comes to the table with a respectable horror pedigree. His past films include The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and Sinister 2.

Not much else was revealed about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but you’d better believe we’ll be watching the project unfold like hawks!

Check out the synopsis and trailer for 2016’s Doctor Stranger below.

Synopsis:
Dr. Stephen Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence.
